Renton property sold in one of the biggest multifamily deals of 2023

The 400-unit Carriages at Fairwood Downs in Renton had been acquired by the seller in 2016 for $98 million.

An apartment complex in Renton traded last week for $107 million, making it King County’s second-priciest multifamily deal of 2023.

New York-based Abacus Capital Group acquired the 400-unit Carriages at Fairwood Downs, located at 15030 SE 179th St.

The circa-1988 apartment community has 37 buildings comprising 441,000 square feet. The price works out to $267,500 per unit and $243 per square foot. 

The seller is an entity related to Sequoia Equities of Walnut Creek, California.
